Sunshine Yellow is the go-to yellow for clowns, sunflowers, banana costumes and colourful fancy dress looks. It also works brilliantly as a base for painted animal noses or butterfly designs at children's parties.
The talc-basis delivers strong coverage in one or two layers, with no need to build up endlessly. That makes it ideal when you're face painting a queue of children one after another.
When do you choose a single pot over a palette?
Pick this individual pot when you already own a palette but find you run through Sunshine Yellow faster than the other colours. It's also the practical choice when you need one reliable base colour for a specific theme without buying an entire palette.
If you're just starting out, the Primary Palette includes Sunshine Yellow alongside seven other core colours: white, black, red, blue, green, orange and purple.
How to use it
Activate the colour with a lightly damp brush or sponge. Talc-based face paint absorbs water a little more slowly than glycerin formulas, so use a touch more water for a smooth application. The colour dries within seconds.
Pro tip: For vivid clown cheeks, lay down a thin layer of Cloud White first, then apply Sunshine Yellow on top. The white base keeps the yellow bright and punchy even on deeper skin tones.
Setting and removing
Once dry, the colour holds for several hours without a fixative. For longer events or active children, seal it with a layer of Ben Nye Final Seal. Removal is straightforward with water and soap or a gentle make-up remover.
