Tinsley Transfers Vampire Bites 3D FX Transfer - Realistic Wound Prosthetic
The Tinsley Transfers Vampire Bites 3D FX Transfer is a self-adhesive wound prosthetic that creates a hyperrealistic vampire bite on your neck or throat. The technology behind Tinsley Transfers was developed by Hollywood SFX artist Christien Tinsley, who received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement in 2008 for the technique. Ideal for Halloween, theatre productions and costume events where convincing SFX detail matters. Film-quality on your skin, applied in minutes.
- 3D FX Transfer prosthetic: two puncture marks on neck or throat
- Water-only application - no glue, no latex, no solvents
- Hyperrealistic effect with tissue-thin edges
- Latex-free - suitable for most skin types
- Made in the USA, Hollywood quality
How do you apply the Vampire Bites 3D FX Transfer? (step-by-step)
- Prepare - Make sure your skin is clean, dry and free of oil or make-up. Ideally hair-free. Have a pair of scissors, a damp sponge or cloth and lukewarm water ready.
- Activate the transfer - Remove the card from the packaging. Carefully peel the transparent effect sheet from the paper backing and lay it face down (FX side down) back onto the sticky transfer paper. This keeps the prosthetic firmly in shape. Smooth out any air bubbles.
- Cut out - Carefully cut out the transfer without cutting into the edge of the prosthetic.
- Expose the adhesive side - Remove the transparent top layer so the adhesive side is visible.
- Position - Place the transfer on your neck or throat and press firmly. Do not move it after positioning.
- Activate with water - Thoroughly wet the paper backing with your damp sponge or cloth. Wait approximately 30 seconds until the paper turns translucent.
- Remove the backer - Gently slide or peel the paper away. Pat dry and press the edges down again for a seamless blend.
- Finish - Complete the look with a touch of fake blood for extra depth and a convincing result.
Removal
- Remove any fake blood and make-up residue with warm water and a cloth.
- Lift a corner and gently roll or peel the transfer from the skin. Remove any adhesive residue with Mouldlife Life-Wipes or Ben Nye Remove-it All. Rinse the skin with water afterwards.
Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Not using enough water - the backing paper needs to be completely saturated. Wait the full 30 seconds before peeling.
- Moving the transfer after positioning - place it in one confident movement and hold it steady. Once pressed down, do not adjust.
- Applying too much fake blood over the edges - add blood directly to the puncture points rather than across the prosthetic edge, otherwise you lose the 3D effect.
