This gruesome mouth prosthetic from the Glam Gore line is perfect for Halloween, horror fans, film sets, or haunted houses. Developed by Hollywood FX artist Christien Tinsley, winner of a technical Academy Award for makeup design.

How to use the Lip Rot 3D FX Transfer (step-by-step)

1. Prep – Make sure the skin is clean, dry, oil-free and makeup-free (and preferably hairless). Have scissors, a wet sponge or towel, and lukewarm water on hand.
2. Activate transfer – Take the card out of the packaging. Carefully peel the clear effect sheet from the paper backing and place the FX side face down back onto the adhesive side of the transfer paper. Smooth out any air bubbles.
3. Cut out – Trim the transfer neatly without cutting into the edge of the prosthetic.
4. Remove top layer – Peel off the clear top layer to expose the sticky side.
5. Apply – Place the transfer on the skin and press down firmly. Do not slide.
6. Transfer with water – Fully soak the paper backing using a sponge or towel. Wait about 30 seconds.
7. Peel off backing – Gently pull or slide off the paper. Pat dry and press the edges again for a seamless blend.
8. Finish – Add makeup and a bit of Fake Blood for extra realism.

Removal

1. First, remove any makeup or blood using warm water and a cloth.
2. Lift a corner and slowly peel the transfer from the skin. Any residue can be removed with adhesive remover like Life Wipes by Mouldlife or Remove-it All by Ben Nye. Clean the skin with water afterward.

Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)

• Using too little water – make sure the backing paper is fully soaked and translucent.
• Too much movement – press firmly in place and do not slide the transfer.
• Using too much blood – a subtle amount often looks more realistic.
