Tinsley Transfers Lip Rot Glam Gore 3D FX Transfer - Realistic Wound Prosthetic
The Tinsley Transfers Lip Rot Glam Gore 3D FX Transfer is a hyperrealistic rotting-lip prosthetic on a water-activated base, made for Halloween, horror film sets and SFX work. Behind this product is Hollywood FX artist Christien Tinsley, winner of an Academy Award for Technical Achievement (2008) for the Tinsley Transfer technique. The prosthetic recreates a decaying lip with exposed skin texture and delivers film-quality results on your skin.
- 3D FX Transfer prosthetic, water-only - no glue needed
- Hyperrealistic rotting lip effect with tissue-thin edges
- Latex-free, made from cosmetic-grade materials
- Stays firmly in place all evening or on set
- Made in the USA - Hollywood quality
How do you apply the Lip Rot? (step-by-step)
- Prepare - Make sure the skin is clean, dry and free of oil or make-up. Preferably hair-free. Have a pair of scissors, a damp sponge or cloth and lukewarm water ready.
- Activate the transfer - Remove the card from the packaging. Gently peel the transparent effect sheet away from the paper backing and lay the sheet FX-side down back onto the sticky transfer paper. This keeps the prosthetic firmly in shape. Smooth out any air bubbles.
- Cut out - Carefully cut out the transfer without cutting into the edge of the prosthetic.
- Expose the adhesive side - Remove the transparent top layer so the adhesive side is visible.
- Place - Position the transfer on the lips or corner of the mouth and press firmly. Do not shift it once it is in place.
- Transfer with water - Thoroughly wet the paper backing with your sponge or cloth. Wait approximately 30 seconds until the paper becomes translucent.
- Remove the backer - Gently slide or peel the paper away. Pat dry and press the edges down again for a seamless blend.
- Finish - Blend with make-up and a little fake blood for extra depth and a convincing result.
Removal
- Remove make-up and blood residue with warm water and a cloth.
- Lift an edge and gently roll the transfer away from the skin. Remove any remaining adhesive with Mouldlife Life-Wipes or Remove-it All by Ben Nye. Rinse the skin with water afterwards.
Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Not using enough water - make sure the paper is fully soaked and becomes translucent before you remove it.
- Moving the transfer after placement - press down firmly straight away and do not shift it after that.
- Using too much fake blood - a subtle amount in the right place gives a more realistic result than covering everything.
