How do you apply the Veins Transfer? (step-by-step)

1. Prepare - Make sure the skin is clean, dry and free of oil or make-up. Hair-free is ideal. Grab a pair of scissors, a damp sponge or cloth, and lukewarm water.
2. Activate the transfer - Remove the card from the packaging. Gently peel the transparent effect sheet away from the paper backing and lay it back down with the FX side facing downward onto the adhesive transfer paper. This keeps the prosthetic firmly in shape. Smooth out any air bubbles.
3. Cut out - Carefully cut out the transfer without cutting into the edge of the prosthetic.
4. Expose the adhesive side - Remove the transparent top layer to reveal the adhesive side.
5. Position - Place the transfer on the forehead, temple or neck and press firmly. Do not slide it once placed.
6. Transfer with water - Thoroughly wet the paper backing with your sponge or cloth. Wait about 30 seconds until the paper turns translucent.
7. Remove the backer - Gently peel or slide the paper away. Pat dry and press the edges down again for a seamless blend.
8. Finish - Add a touch of fake blood for extra depth and a convincing result.

Removal

1. Remove any make-up and fake blood residue with warm water and a cloth.
2. Lift an edge and slowly roll the transfer away from the skin. Remove any adhesive residue with Mouldlife Life-Wipes or Ben Nye Remove-it All. Rinse the skin with water afterwards.

Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)

• Not using enough water - the backing needs to be completely saturated, otherwise the paper won't release cleanly.
• Sliding the transfer after placing - position carefully first, then press down firmly straight away as the adhesive grips fast.
• Overdoing the fake blood on top of the veins - a small amount goes a long way; too much will hide the 3D effect.

The transfers are latex-free and made from cosmetic-grade materials. If you have sensitive skin, test on the inside of your wrist first, remove after 30 minutes and check for any irritation. Do not apply around the eyes or on sensitive skin. Not suitable as a toy and not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
