How do you apply the Cut Throat 3D FX Transfer? (step-by-step)

1. Prepare - Make sure the skin is clean, dry and free from oil or make-up. Hair-free is ideal. Grab a pair of scissors, a damp sponge or cloth and lukewarm water.
2. Activate the transfer - Remove the card from the packaging. Carefully peel the transparent effect sheet away from the paper backing, then lay the sheet face-down (FX side down) back onto the sticky transfer paper. This keeps the prosthetic firmly in shape. Smooth out any air bubbles.
3. Cut out - Carefully cut out the desired transfer (deep wound or subtler variant) without cutting into the edge of the prosthetic.
4. Expose the adhesive side - Remove the transparent top layer to reveal the adhesive side.
5. Position - Place the transfer on the neck and press firmly. Don't slide it once it's in position.
6. Transfer with water - Fully wet the paper backing with your damp sponge or cloth. Wait about 30 seconds until the paper becomes translucent.
7. Remove the backing - Carefully peel or slide away the paper. Pat dry and press the edges down again for a seamless blend.
8. Finish - Finish off with some make-up and a little fake blood for extra depth and a convincing result.

Removal

1. Remove any make-up and blood residue with warm water and a cloth.
2. Lift a corner of the transfer and carefully roll it away from the skin. Remove any adhesive residue with Mouldlife Life-Wipes or Ben Nye Remove-it All. Rinse the skin with water afterwards.

Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)

• Not using enough water - always wet the backing paper completely until it becomes translucent, otherwise the transfer won't release properly.
• Sliding the transfer after placing it - press it into the correct position on the neck first, then don't move it again.
• Using too much blood - a subtle amount of fake blood almost always looks more realistic than overdoing it.
