Sprayable thick gel stage blood in a deep red-brown shade for dried and older wounds. It leaves the spray nozzle as a thick, wide stream and stays put once dry. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.
What is Spray Gel Blood Dried?
Spray Gel Blood is a sprayable gel with a thicker consistency than liquid stage blood. It comes out of the bottle as a wide, dense stream and lays down a heavy blood residue on skin, clothing and set dressing. Once dry, the residue stays in place and gives a dry, congealed effect.
The Dried shade is a deep red-brown, the colour of blood that has been sitting for a while. It is the right choice for older wounds, scab effects and blood that is no longer fresh. No pink undertone, even when in contact with water.
Why choose Spray Gel Blood Dried?
- Sprayable gel - wide coverage in a single spray, thicker deposit than liquid blood
- Deep red-brown - for dried and older blood effects
- Stays in place after drying, no smudge on dry contact
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Spray Gel Blood Dried
Spray directly from the bottle onto skin, clothing or set pieces. For precise placement, catch the gel and apply it with a brush or make-up sponge. Hold the bottle at an angle and vary the distance for a wider or narrower pattern.
For extra wound depth around the wound, combine the Dried shade with a sculpting gel variant such as Contour Gel Blood Dried or Form Gel Blood Dried.
Setting and removing
Spray Gel Blood Dried dries in open air to a dry, dense deposit. Let it dry completely for the best effect - this takes a few minutes depending on thickness.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water dissolves the dried blood so it comes straight off.
From fabric: soak the fabric for a while in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Rinse under the tap and wash in the machine on a 30-degree cycle.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning agent or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Dried blood on skin and clothing for older wound effects
- Drip scenes and blood trails in film, theatre and short film
- Scab and crust effects in SFX make-up
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training sessions and make-up demonstrations
