The Dark Arts Company Contour Gel Blood Dried, 50ml
A thick fake blood gel in a deep red-brown shade with a slow-setting, form-holding consistency. It stays exactly where you put it and dries down gradually to a glossy blood residue. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.
What is Contour Gel Blood Dried?
Contour Gel Blood is a thick gel that holds its position on the skin without running or spreading. It dries slowly, giving you full control as you build up wound contours and details. Ideal for cuts, scabs and prosthetic edges where shape and volume matter.
Dried is the deep red-brown shade in this range, designed for older wounds and dried blood effects. The colour reads as blood that has been sitting and darkening for a while. No pink undertone, even in contact with water.
Why choose Contour Gel Dried?
- Thick gel - stays in place without dripping or spreading
- Form-holding - suitable for wound contouring, scabs and prosthetic edges
- Dries slowly to a glossy blood residue - gives you time to build the look
- Contains surfactants and anti-stain agents for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Contour Gel Dried
Apply with a brush or a make-up sponge for precise placement. Scoop the gel straight from the pot or use a palette knife. For scab effects, place small amounts along a wound edge and let it dry slowly. For deeper contouring, spread with a narrow brush along the wound outline.
Want a flowing blood trail from the same wound? Combine with Slow-Flo Dark (for clotting dark blood) or Form Gel Dried (for extra 3D volume around the wound edge).
Setting and removing
Contour Gel Dried dries slowly in open air. Gently blot with a paper towel if you want to speed things along.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes it easily. The water reactivates the dried gel so it lifts straight off.
From fabric: leave the fabric to soak in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Rinse under the tap and then machine wash at 30 degrees.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning agent or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Older wounds and dried blood effects on skin and clothing
- Wound contouring and scab shapes for film and theatre
- Finishing prosthetic edges with realistic dried blood
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training sessions and make-up demos
