The Dark Arts Company Form Gel Blood Classic, 50ml

Thick, sculpting fake blood gel in a rich orange-red shade. Stays exactly where you apply it and dries slowly to a glossy blood residue. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.

What is Form Gel Blood Classic?

Form Gel Blood is a thick gel with a shape-holding consistency. Apply it in and around a wound and it stays put: it won't run, sink in, or lose its form. It dries slowly, so you can keep working on it throughout a shoot or performance.

Classic is the standard shade in the range: a rich orange-red that reads as authentic fresh blood under normal lighting. No pink undertone, even when it comes into contact with water.

Why choose Form Gel Blood Classic?

  • Thick gel that holds its shape - ideal for raised blood effects in and around wounds
  • Dries slowly - gives you time to adjust during takes and shoots
  • Classic shade: rich orange-red, the go-to colour for fresh wounds and blood trails
  • Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easier clean-up
  • Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
  • Vegan and not tested on animals

How to apply Form Gel Blood Classic

Scoop the gel with a brush or make-up sponge and place it where you need it. For a raised wound effect, build up in layers and allow each one a moment before adding the next. For blood running along a wound edge, use the tip of a brush and let the gel move slowly downward.

Want more depth inside the wound? Combine it with a thinner texture like Fast-Flo Classic for the flowing layers, then use Form Gel to shape the top and edges.

Setting and removing

Form Gel Blood dries slowly in open air. Gently blot with a paper tissue if you want to speed up drying slightly.

From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water dissolves the dried gel so it comes off straight away.

From fabric: soak the fabric in water at around 30 degrees with some detergent for a while. Rinse under the tap and then wash in the machine on a 30-degree cycle.

From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning product or household bleach.

What can you use it for?

  • Sculpted blood in and around wounds with a raised, three-dimensional effect
  • Wound contouring and sculpting effects around prosthetics
  • Blood from wounds, mouth or nose in film, theatre and photography
  • Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
  • SFX training sessions and make-up demonstrations
