The Dark Arts Company Contour Gel Blood Dark, 50 ml
Thick gel fake blood with a deep crimson tint and a shape-holding, slow-drying texture. It stays exactly where you apply it and dries slowly to a glossy blood residue. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.
What is Contour Gel Blood Dark?
Contour Gel Blood is a thick, shape-holding gel designed to accent wounds and add depth. The gel stays in place, does not run, and dries slowly to a glossy crust. That makes it ideal for wound contouring, cuts, scab forming and prosthetic edges.
Dark is the deepest crimson shade in the range. The colour adds extra wound depth to cuts and larger wound effects. No pink undertone, even on contact with water.
Why choose Contour Gel Blood Dark?
- Thick, shape-holding gel - stays put and does not run
- Dries slowly to a glossy blood residue for realistic wound effects
- Deep crimson with no pink undertone, even in water
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Contour Gel Blood Dark
Apply with a brush or make-up sponge. Work the gel into wound contours and along prosthetic edges for a depth effect. The gel follows the texture and stays in place without running.
For extra wound depth, combine with a more fluid variant such as Slow-Flo Dark (congealing blood) or Form Gel Dark (3D build-up in and around the wound).
Setting and removing
Contour Gel Blood Dark dries slowly in the air to a glossy residue. Blot gently with a paper tissue if you want to speed up drying.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water re-dissolves the dried blood so it wipes away straight away.
From fabric: soak the fabric for a while in water at around 30 degrees with laundry detergent. Rinse under the tap and wash in the machine on a 30-degree programme.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning agent or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Accenting wound contours and cuts with deep dark-red blood
- Finishing prosthetic edges and creating scab forms
- Blood from wounds for film, theatre and short film
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training sessions and make-up demonstrations
