The Dark Arts Company Dried Matt Gel Blood, 50ml
A thick gel fake blood with a matt, non-shiny crust finish. Dries down to a dark reddish-brown residue that looks like dried, congealed blood. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.
What is Dried Matt Gel Blood?
Dried Matt Gel Blood is a thick, form-holding gel that dries to a matt crust after application. Unlike glossy gel variants it leaves no wet shine behind. That matt effect is exactly what you need when creating an older wound, healed cut or dried blood crust.
The colour is a deep reddish-brown, matched to the look of dried blood. No pink undertone, even when it comes into contact with water.
Why choose Dried Matt Gel Blood?
- Matt finish - dries without shine for a realistic crust effect
- Thick gel that stays in place on the skin
- Deep reddish-brown, matched to the colour of dried blood
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Dried Matt Gel Blood
Apply with a brush or stipple on with a make-up sponge. For crust edges: work from outside in with a dry brush so the edges set before the centre. Let it dry fully before the matt finish becomes visible.
For a fresh wound with depth, combine with a glossy variant such as Contour Gel Blood Dark in the wound centre for a wetter look at the base.
Setting and removing
Dried Matt Gel Blood air-dries to a matt crust. Once dry it holds well. Apply it only after the rest of your make-up is complete.
From skin: warm water with a little soap removes it easily. The water reactivates the dried blood so it lifts straight away.
From fabric: soak the fabric in water at around 30 degrees with detergent for a while. Rinse under the tap and then wash in the machine on a 30-degree cycle.
From surfaces: for non-porous surfaces simply wash and rinse until clean; porous surfaces may need a cleaning product or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Dried blood crust on skin for healed and older wounds
- Crust edges around fresh wounds in combination with glossy blood
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training and make-up demonstrations
- Film and theatre where static blood needs to stay in place for a long time
