The Dark Arts Company Contour Gel Blood Classic, 50ml

Thick gel fake blood with a rich orange-red tint and a form-holding texture. Dries slowly to a glossy blood residue without running. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre, and SFX make-up.

What is Contour Gel Blood Classic?

Contour Gel Blood Classic is a thick, form-holding gel that stays exactly where you apply it on the skin. It dries slowly to a glossy residue, giving you time to adjust during application. The gel is ideal for accentuating wound edges, cuts, scab forms, and prosthetic borders.

Classic is the orange-red standard shade for fresh wounds and blood trails. Rich colour depth with no pink undertone, even when in contact with water.

Why choose Contour Gel Blood Classic?

  • Thick gel - stays in place and holds its shape
  • Dries slowly to a glossy blood residue for a realistic finish
  • No pink undertone, even in water
  • Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
  • Ingredients of food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical grade
  • Vegan and not tested on animals

How to apply Contour Gel Blood Classic

Apply the gel with a brush or make-up sponge directly onto the skin or prosthetic edge. For cut effects, drag the brush in a narrow line and let the gel settle into the recess. For a scab effect, stipple the gel and let it dry slowly without disturbing it.

For extra wound depth, combine it with a more fluid texture such as Fast-Flo Classic for drip trails or Form Gel Classic for raised volume.

Setting and removing

Contour Gel Blood dries slowly in open air. Gently blot with a paper towel if you want to speed up the drying process.

From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water dissolves the dried blood so it comes off straight away.

From fabric: soak the fabric for a while in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Then rinse under the tap and wash in the machine on a 30-degree cycle.

From surfaces: for non-porous surfaces just wash and rinse; porous surfaces may need a cleaning product or household bleach.

What can you use it for?

  • Wound contouring, cuts, and scab forms on skin and prosthetics
  • Drip scenes and blood trails in film, theatre, and short films
  • Blood from wounds, mouth, or nose in SFX make-up
  • Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
  • SFX training and make-up demonstrations
