The Dark Arts Company Contour Gel Blood Bright, 50ml
A thick gel stage blood with an intense vermillion red tint and a form-holding, slow-moving consistency. It stays exactly where you apply it and dries slowly to a glossy blood residue. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre, and SFX make-up.
What is Contour Gel Blood Bright?
Contour Gel Blood is a thick, form-holding gel that stays in place on the skin. You use it for wound contouring, scab forming, prosthetic edges and cuts where the blood should not run. The gel dries slowly to a glossy residue, which works in your favour across multiple takes or longer sessions.
Bright is an intense vermillion red, vivid and fresh. Made specifically for low-light situations and blood from the lungs, where a bright red reads more realistic than a darker variant. No pink undertone, even on contact with water.
Why choose Contour Gel Blood Bright?
- Thick gel - stays on the skin without running
- Form-holding - ideal for wound contouring, scab forming and prosthetic edges
- Dries slowly to a glossy blood residue
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy cleaning
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Contour Gel Blood Bright
Apply with a brush or makeup sponge. For wound contouring, work the gel in thin layers along the edges of a wound or prosthetic. For scab effects, dab the gel directly onto the surface and let it dry slowly without brushing over it.
For wounds with extra depth, combine with a more fluid texture like Fast-Flo Blood Bright (fast flowing) or Slow-Flo Blood Bright (coagulating effect).
Setting and removing
Contour Gel Blood Bright dries slowly in open air. Gently dab with a paper towel if you want it to set a little faster.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water dissolves the dried blood so it comes right off.
From fabric: leave the fabric to soak in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Rinse under the tap and wash in the machine on a 30-degree programme.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning product or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Form-holding blood in wounds, scabs and prosthetic edges
- Cut wound effects and wound contouring for film and theatre
- Blood from the lungs or mouth in low-light scenes
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training and make-up demos
