The Dark Arts Company Form Gel Blood Bright, 50ml
A thick, mouldable blood gel with an intense vermilion red tint and a slow drying time. It stays in place on the skin and holds its shape in and around wounds. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.
What is Form Gel Blood Bright?
Form Gel Blood is a thick gel you can shape and sculpt. It dries slowly and stays put on the skin without running. That makes it ideal for raised effects: think wound edges that stand proud or blood that clots around a cut. The thickness gives you full control over placement.
Bright is the most vivid shade in the Form Gel Blood range: an intense vermilion red with no orange or pink cast. Specifically formulated for lo-light environments and for simulating blood from the lungs. No pink undertone, even in contact with water.
Why choose Form Gel Blood Bright?
- Thick, mouldable gel that holds 3D shape in and around wounds
- Dries slowly - more time to position and adjust
- Intense vermilion red with no pink undertone, even in water
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Form Gel Blood Bright
Scoop the gel from the pot with a brush or a make-up sponge. Press the gel into the wound recess or sculpt it onto the skin. For raised edges and scab effects: build up the gel in small amounts and let each layer sit before adding more.
Want extra depth inside the wound? Combine Form Gel Blood Bright with a thinner texture, such as Fast-Flo Bright (fast-flowing) or Slow-Flo Bright (clotting effect).
Setting and removing
Form Gel Blood Bright dries slowly in the air. Pat gently with a paper towel if you want to speed up the process.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water reactivates the dried gel so it comes off straight away.
From fabric: soak the fabric in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Rinse under the tap afterwards and wash in the machine on a 30-degree programme.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous ones may require a cleaning product or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Sculpted blood in and around wounds with raised 3D effects
- Lacerations, tear wounds and prosthetic edges in film and theatre
- Blood from the mouth or lungs in vivid lo-light scenes
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training sessions and make-up demos
