The Dark Arts Company Slow-Flo Blood Bright, 100ml

Fake blood with an intense vermilion red colour and a thick, slow-moving texture. Dries to a coagulated, clotted finish. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.

What is Slow-Flo Blood Bright?

Slow-Flo Blood is the thickest liquid fake blood in the Flo range. The heavier texture resists flow, so the blood moves slowly and stays exactly where you apply it. It dries to a coagulated finish that convincingly replicates old or stopping wounds.

Bright is the vivid red shade, with an intense vermilion tone. It was developed specifically for lo-light environments and lung blood, where a fresher, brighter red reads more realistically on camera and under stage lighting. No pink undertone, even in contact with water.

Why choose Slow-Flo Bright?

  • Thick texture - resists flow and stays where you place it
  • Dries to a clotted, coagulating finish
  • Intense vermilion red - no pink undertone, even in water
  • Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
  • Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
  • Vegan and not tested on animals

How to apply Slow-Flo Bright

Pour directly from the bottle, drip with a pipette or apply with a brush or make-up sponge. The thick consistency gives you precise control: dab around wounds for a clotted effect or let it drip slowly for a coagulating blood trail.

For deeper wound effects, combine with a thinner variant like Fast-Flo Bright as fresh flowing blood at the edges, and use Slow-Flo Bright for the clotted section at the centre of the wound.

Setting and removing

Slow-Flo dries slowly in the air to a clotted finish. Gently blot with a paper towel if you want to speed up the drying process.

From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water reactivates the dried blood so it lifts straight off.

From fabric: soak the fabric in water at around 30 degrees with detergent for a while. Rinse under the tap, then wash in the machine on a 30-degree cycle.

From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning agent or household bleach.

What can you use it for?

  • Clotting and coagulating blood around wounds on skin and clothing
  • Drip scenes in film, theatre and short film where controlled flow is needed
  • Blood from wounds or mouth in lo-light environments
  • Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
  • SFX training and make-up demonstrations
