What is Acrylic One ATP Powder?

ATP Powder is a filler you mix into the A1 acrylic resin. It increases the volume of the mixture and gives it a thicker, filler-like texture. This lets you build up layers on an object until you reach a smooth, finishable surface. Unlike the Thixotropic A modifier, which creates a gel-coat consistency, ATP Powder specifically brings the mix to a spreadable filler.

Important: ATP Powder is suitable for indoor applications only. Outdoor exposure to moisture or temperature variation can affect the finish.

When to use ATP Powder in the 5 kg size?

The 5 kg packaging is intended for production environments where you regularly finish larger objects. Think studio production of props, multiple support moulds, or a series of EPS objects requiring a hard coating. Choose the 5 kg when you go through the smaller packaging quickly or when cost per kilo is a consideration.

Choose this size if ATP Powder is a structural part of your workflow and you don't want to reorder every week.

How to use ATP Powder?

Add ATP Powder to the A1 Liquid before adding the base powder, or mix it into the completed A1 mix. The exact dosage depends on the consistency you need. Start with a small amount, mix thoroughly, and assess the texture before thickening further. ATP Powder has no effect on working time: you retain the standard 20-25 minutes of processing time.

Pro tip: When finishing EPS objects with heavy surface irregularities, apply a thin standard A1 base coat first for adhesion, then a second layer with ATP Powder for volume build-up. This saves ATP Powder and gives better adhesion to the substrate.

Combining with other Acrylic One additives

ATP Powder combines well with Thixotropic A 1 kg if you want both volume and gel-coat properties in the same mix. Combining with Accelerator 1 kg or Retarder 1 kg is also possible, but never mix Accelerator and Retarder in the same batch.

Always wear nitrile gloves when weighing and mixing to avoid skin contact.
