Acrylic One Triaxial Fibre, 3 m²
Acrylic One Triaxial Fibre is a glass-fibre reinforcement fabric for laminating with A1 acrylic resin, available as a 3 m² roll. The triaxial weave structure, fibres running in three directions, reinforces your object evenly in all directions. Suitable for support moulds, load-bearing props and larger SFX objects.
- Triaxial weave: fibres in 3 directions
- Isotropic reinforcement for support moulds and larger objects
- Lightweight fabric: 160 g/m²
- Flexible enough to work on curved and complex forms
- 4 layers combined with A1 resin: vandalism-resistant result
What is Triaxial Fibre?
Triaxial Fibre is an open-weave glass-fibre fabric developed specifically for use with Acrylic One base material. Unlike standard glass fabric, a triaxial weave has fibres running in three directions simultaneously. This distributes mechanical stress evenly across the object, regardless of the direction of force applied.
The open weave structure is intentional. A1 acrylic resin does not absorb the fabric but clamps it between successive resin layers. The open mesh ensures that subsequent A1 layers bond well to each other.
How to use Triaxial Fibre?
Cut the fabric to size and lay it onto the object while the top A1 layer is still slightly tacky, immediately after the set time. Apply a fresh layer of A1 acrylic resin over the fabric and press out any air bubbles with a brush or roller. Work wet-on-wet where possible: start the next layer before the previous one has fully dried.
Pro tip: If a laminate layer has dried out completely before you can continue, apply a thin coat of A1 resin across the entire surface as a bonding layer first. Working on a large object and need more working time? Add Acrylic One Retarder to your A1 mix to extend the working time.
When to use it?
- Support moulds and negative-positive life-casts under mechanical load
- Larger props and set pieces for theatre or film
- SFX prosthetics and mask parts with higher strength requirements
- Finishing EPS and foam objects where impact resistance matters
- Objects that need to be vandalism-resistant (4 layers of fabric combined with A1)

1 roll of Triaxial Fibre, 3 m², weight 160 g/m². Store dry in a sealed package.
Combine with
Triaxial Fibre is always used together with Acrylic One base material. Thicken the resin with ATP Powder for a thicker, filler-like impregnation layer on vertical surfaces. Use Thixotropic A for a gel-coat consistency that resists sagging. After curing, seal the object with Sealer PLUS Matt, Sealer PLUS Satin or Sealer PLUS Gloss.
