The Acrylic One High Shear Mixing Blade 65mm is a stainless steel mixing blade for use with a drill or hand mixer, designed specifically for mixing A1 acrylic resin. It creates a vortex in the A1 Liquid so the A1 Powder is absorbed quickly and without lumps.

What is the mixing blade used for?
A homogeneous A1 mix starts with a proper vortex. The 65mm blade has enough diameter to create a stable vortex in a medium-sized mixing cup or bucket, letting you add the A1 Powder gradually without clumping.
The high-shear action provides intensive mixing while minimising air entrapment. That matters for a strong, low-porosity result in prosthetics, moulds and props.
How to use the mixing blade?
Attach the blade to a drill or hand mixer. Submerge it in the weighed-out A1 Liquid and run at medium speed until a vortex forms. Then gradually add the A1 Powder into the vortex and keep mixing until the blend is smooth and lump-free. Allow roughly 1 minute of mixing plus 30 seconds for a fully homogeneous mass.
Pro tip: Keep the drill speed moderate. A steady medium speed produces a better vortex and introduces fewer air bubbles than running at full throttle.
Maintenance
Rinse the blade with water immediately after use, before the A1 sets on the metal. Cured A1 is mechanically strong and difficult to remove. A quick 10-15 second rinse directly after mixing is all it takes.
