How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush into the paint. Clean water keeps colours bright and true - use a water bowl and refresh the water between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for face paint with soft synthetic fibres that won't leave fluff on the skin. For detail work and fine lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water bowl with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing or turning dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This protective layer makes removal easier and prevents staining with intense shades.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a quicker, no-scrubbing removal:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed to remove Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a pre-moistened wipe that takes the face paint off in one sweep, perfect for events and children's parties where you're painting many faces in a row

Frequently asked questions
Why do some pots have small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear as soon as you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben-, and lanolin-free, gluten-free, and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range meets EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance on sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
A 30g pot gives you around 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic, and Neon?
Essential is matte, everyday face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet, and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under blacklight; the other Neon shades are opaque and vivid under regular light too.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Shades may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
