Grimas Latex-rubber Milk (100 ml)
Do you want to get started with special effects (SFX) and create a real “wow, that looks painful” effect? With Grimas Latex-rubber Milk (also known as Grimas latex rubber milk or latex rubber milk) you can quickly create texture, fake skin and wound edges. This liquid latex dries transparent, so it’s super easy to paint over afterwards.
What is Grimas Latex-rubber Milk?
Grimas Latex-rubber Milk is a white liquid latex (liquid latex) for creating special effects. Think building up burns, scars and skin textures, but also applications such as castings in a plaster model. When wet, the latex is white, and once it dries it becomes transparent.
Please note: do not use latex-rubber milk directly on the skin. If you do want to create an effect on the skin, always work on a protective base layer and test first on a small area.
Why choose this product?
This is a true SFX classic: you build it up in layers, get texture fast, and then you can go in any direction with color. Because it dries transparent, you can paint it very realistically with, for example, cake make-up or face paint.
- Perfect for SFX texture such as burns, damaged skin and wound edges
- Dries transparent, so your colors stay clearly visible
- Works great in layers (e.g. with tissue or cotton for extra texture)
- Handy 100 ml bottle: plenty for multiple looks
How do you use Grimas Latex-rubber Milk?
Here’s how to work with Grimas Latex-rubber Milk (liquid latex) for special effects:
- Prep your skin with a grease-free cleanse, for example Grimas Cleansing Lotion.
- Protect your skin with a caring base such as Grimas Skincare Cream and/or work on a make-up base (e.g. Grimas Cake Make-up). (Again: do not use directly on the skin.)
- Apply a thin layer of latex with a (disposable) sponge or brush on the area where you want texture.
- Let it dry and repeat for extra thickness. For a “broken skin” effect, you can work tissue or cotton in between layers.
- De-tack / de-stick by lightly powdering (see fixing below), then paint with face paint/cake make-up in red, purple and brown tones for realism.
Extra handy: want step-by-step inspiration? Then also check Liquid Latex with Cotton (SFX for beginners).
Fixing and removing
Fixing: latex can remain tacky. Lightly dust the effect with a transparent setting powder, such as Grimas Transparant Powder. This makes the surface more comfortable to work on and also helps when painting.
Removing: always remove latex gently and don’t pull hard on the skin. You can carefully loosen any residue and then cleanse the skin. For sticky leftovers or glue-like edges, a remover is helpful, such as Grimas Mastix Remover. Afterwards, cleanse again with Grimas Afschmink or choose something from the Removers & Cleansing category.
Important: latex-rubber milk is not washable from clothing. So: old clothes, a cape or a towel is your best friend.
What do you use it for?
- Special effects burns and burned skin
- Scars, wound edges and “fake skin” textures
- Skin aging / texture effects (SFX)
- Blending edges and building texture in SFX looks
- Castings in a plaster model (molds/imprints)
