Mehron Liquid Latex Clear (472ml)
Mehron Liquid Latex Clear is a professional-grade liquid rubber latex from Mehron for SFX make-up, prosthetic work and skin texture effects. This 472ml bottle is the studio size, made for regular use in theatre companies, film productions and professional SFX studios.
- Liquid rubber latex for SFX skin effects
- Dries transparent, suits every skin tone
- Build rips, wrinkles, burns and 3D texture
- Studio size: 472ml
- Peel-off removal, no solvent needed
What SFX effects can you create with Liquid Latex Clear?
The Clear variant dries translucent, so your own skin tone stays visible underneath. That means effects blend seamlessly on any skin colour without a base colour layer first. Use it to build fake skin, ageing wrinkles, burn wounds, peeling effects and zombie textures.
By pressing cotton wool or tissue into wet latex and working extra layers over the top, you get raised 3D textures in one session. Want a skin-coloured finish instead? Grab Mehron Liquid Latex Light Flesh or Mehron Liquid Latex Dark Flesh. For a green zombie tint there is Mehron Liquid Latex Zombie. For sensitive skin, Ben Nye Latex for Sensitive Skin contains less ammonia.
Why choose this studio-size bottle?
At 472ml you have enough latex for extended productions without constantly reordering. One bottle covers full creature builds, multiple prosthetic applications and large surface latex paste work. It is the standard choice for theatre make-up departments and film SFX crews who use latex weekly.
Choose this size if you work through 135ml bottles quickly, or if you mix your own latex paste by combining latex with a little flour for fast large-area coverage. The paste technique covers in one layer what otherwise takes five to ten layers of straight latex.
How to use Mehron Liquid Latex
Shake well before use. Apply the first thin layer with a non-latex foam sponge or brush, stippling it onto the skin. Let each layer dry fully before adding the next. On areas with hair growth, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly first to prevent sticking.
Pro tip: for a paste that covers large areas fast, mix the latex with a little plain flour until you get a thicker consistency. One layer of this paste replaces five to ten layers of straight liquid latex, saving significant time on large builds.

Safety and removal
Do not use if you have a latex allergy. Patch test on a small area before a full application. Once dry, peel the latex gently away from the skin. Rinse any residue with warm water and soap. No solvent remover is needed.
