What SFX effects can you create with this latex?
Mehron Liquid Latex is applied in thin layers using a non-latex foam sponge. Each layer dries before you add the next. By pressing cotton wool or tissue into the wet latex, you build up 3D texture for wounds, scars and burnt-skin effects. You can also mix the latex with flour to make a thicker paste that covers larger areas in far fewer layers.

How to use Mehron Liquid Latex
Step 1: prepare. Shake well before use. On areas with hair growth, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the skin first to prevent painful removal later.
Step 2: build up layers. Apply a thin first layer with a non-latex foam sponge or brush. Let each layer dry fully before adding the next.
Step 3: add texture (optional). Press cotton wool or pieces of tissue into the wet latex for 3D texture, then apply more layers over the top for a seamless finish.
Step 4: finish with colour. Once dry, colour the latex with cream make-up, face paint or alcohol make-up to match the surrounding skin. Add blood effects with Mehron Coagulated Blood Gel or Mehron Stage Blood.
Pro tip: for a latex paste (ideal for quickly covering large areas), mix the liquid latex with a small amount of plain flour until it thickens. One layer of paste achieves what would otherwise take 5 to 10 layers of straight latex.
Safety and removal
Before use: do not apply if you have a latex allergy. Always do a patch test before use. Avoid applying over hair without petroleum jelly underneath.
To remove, peel the dried latex gently away from the skin. Any residue comes off with warm water and soap. No solvent is needed for Light Flesh latex.
