EBA Transfusion Blood Vails Bright Blood, 8ml
The EBA Transfusion Blood Vials Bright Blood is a clear arterial fake blood by European Body Art in a compact 8ml vial. The cellulose formula dries waterproof and smudge-proof - without the stickiness of syrup-based bloods. Bright Blood has a vivid red colour with a yellow-brown plasma undertone, exactly the colour of fresh arterial blood.
- Bright arterial red, yellow-brown plasma undertone
- Cellulose formula, syrup- and sorbitol-free
- Waterproof, transfer-proof, fast-drying
- Holds shape for drips, drops and deep wound effects
- 8ml vial, touch-up size, designed and produced in Costa Mesa USA by European Body Art
What makes Transfusion Blood different from other film blood?
Most film blood formulas are syrup- or sorbitol-based. They stick, run, smear and need constant touching up - exactly what you don't want on a long shoot day. Transfusion Blood breaks with that formula. The cellulose base dries to a high-gloss wet look that doesn't cling, doesn't smudge and doesn't transfer.
Once dry, the blood stays exactly where you put it. Drops hold their shape, deep wounds keep their texture and splatter patterns stay sharply defined. For film, theatre and haunted houses, that means far fewer touch-ups.
How to apply Bright Blood
Apply Bright Blood directly from the vial using a brush, sponge or dropper. Different tools give different effects:
- Ben Nye Mini Splatter Brush for realistic blood splatter patterns
- FBFX duo-hair stipple brush for wound texture and depth
- A fine brush for sharp drips, fresh cut effects and blood trails from the nose or corner of the mouth
Pro tip: For a convincing nosebleed, apply Bright Blood with a fine brush in thin lines along the nostril opening. The yellow-brown plasma undertone gives the right fresh arterial colour straight away - no additional mixing needed.
How long does it last and how to remove it
Bright Blood lasts 24 to 72 hours on skin, depending on placement and friction. Setting is not needed - the cellulose formula dries to a lasting finish on its own. Removal does require the right approach. Per situation:
- On skin: Start with EBA Vapore 60ml - the official EBA remover. Apply Vapore to the blood layer and leave for 30-60 seconds to let the cellulose release. Then dab gently with a cotton pad or soft cloth. Don't rub - dabbing dissolves more than scrubbing.
- Residual colour after Vapore: Warm water with mild soap, applied by dabbing. A faint red shadow may remain on light skin and usually fades within a few hours.
- On fabric or clothing: Rinse immediately with cold water - warm water sets the stain. Then treat with stain remover or washing powder before laundering.
- Near eyes or sensitive skin: Avoid alcohol-based remover near the eyes. Use mild soap and water or a cleansing oil instead.
- On latex or silicone prosthetics: Vapore works here too, but leave it to soak for 1-2 minutes for deeper layers.

- The Blood - deep red medium-dark (heavy bleeding, signature EBA blood)
- Dark Blood - dark (dead or undead characters, older wounds)
- Scab Tone - deep brown scab colour (blood crusts, healed wounds)

Safety and storage
Designed for ages 14 and over. Avoid application near the mouth, eyes, nose and ears. The blood may cause temporary skin discolouration and can stain clothing - work in protective clothing on covered sets.
For best adhesion, cleanse the skin with 70% isopropyl alcohol first, avoid lotions and oils on the application area, and dab dry with a towel after application (do not rub). Store the vial in a cool, dry place with the cap firmly closed.
