Tinsley Transfers Tattoo Mauled Trauma FX - Realistic SFX Tattoo Transfer
The Tinsley Transfers Tattoo Mauled Trauma FX is a temporary 2D tattoo transfer showing deep claw marks and torn skin, designed for SFX use on the arm, shoulder or chest. Developed by Hollywood SFX artist Christien Tinsley, who received the Academy Award for Technical Achievement in 2008 for her transfer technique. Perfect for Halloween, horror shoots and theatre - film-quality on your skin.
- Realistic claw marks and torn skin tattoo
- Water-only application - no glue or solvents
- Latex-free, made from cosmetic-grade materials
- Suitable for arm, shoulder or chest
- Made in the USA, Hollywood SFX quality
How do you apply the Mauled Trauma FX? (step-by-step)
- Prepare - Make sure your skin is clean, dry and free from oil or make-up. Grab a pair of scissors, a damp sponge or cloth and lukewarm water.
- Cut out - Cut the transfer out around the design, following the outer edge of the claw marks.
- Remove the top layer - Carefully peel off the transparent protective film to expose the adhesive side.
- Apply and activate - Press the adhesive side firmly onto your arm, shoulder or chest. Dampen the paper backing completely with your wet sponge and wait around 30 seconds until the paper turns translucent.
- Remove paper and finish - Slide the paper gently to one side. The tattoo stays behind as a detailed print on your skin. Add a small amount of fake blood for extra impact.
Removal
- Remove any fake blood or make-up with warm water and a cloth.
- Lift one edge and gently roll the transfer from your skin. Remove any residue with Mouldlife Life-Wipes or Ben Nye Remove-it All. Rinse the skin with water afterwards.
Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Pulling the paper too early - Wait until the backing is completely translucent before you remove it. Pulling too soon will tear the tattoo.
- Not pressing firmly enough - Press the full transfer down firmly before wetting the backing. Loose edges will lift and peel.
- Too much fake blood on top - A thin layer adds realism; too much hides the claw mark detail underneath.
