How do you apply the Intensive Care Trauma FX? (step-by-step)

1. Prepare - Make sure the skin is clean, dry and free of oil or make-up. Have a pair of scissors, a damp sponge or cloth, and lukewarm water to hand.
2. Cut out - Cut the transfer generously around the design, following the outer edge of the artwork.
3. Remove top layer - Carefully peel off the transparent protective film to reveal the adhesive side.
4. Apply + activate - Place the tattoo adhesive-side down on the arm or chest and press firmly. Dampen the paper backing completely with your wet sponge and wait around 30 seconds until the paper turns translucent.
5. Remove paper + finish - Gently slide the paper away. The tattoo stays on your skin as a detailed print. Finish with a little fake blood for extra impact.

Removal

1. Remove any blood residue with warm water and a cloth.
2. Lift an edge of the tattoo and gently peel or roll the transfer away from the skin. Remove any adhesive residue with Mouldlife Life-Wipes or Remove-it All by Ben Nye. Rinse the skin with water afterwards.

Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)

• Pulling the paper too early - Wait until the backing paper is truly translucent before removing it. Pulling too soon risks lifting the tattoo off with the paper. Those 30 seconds make all the difference.
• Not pressing the transfer down firmly - Press the tattoo firmly onto the skin before wetting the backing. Loose edges will not bond properly and may lift during the day.
• Too much fake blood over the tattoo - A touch of blood adds depth. Too much covers the detail of the tattoo, which is exactly what you want to avoid. Apply blood sparingly with a brush on targeted areas only.
