Mehron Mark Reid Brush Long Filbert
The Mehron Mark Reid Long Filbert is a professional Filbert brush with a flat oval tip from the Mark Reid Pro range, designed for blending and soft contouring. Created by international body painter Mark Reid for face and body painting with water-activated face paint. The synthetic two-tone nylon brush hairs form a flat oval tip with rounded ends, ideal for soft blending, gentle contouring and smoothing colour transitions. The wooden handle has a urethane coating for easy cleaning, and a bevelled end you can use to push away stray hairs or edges without disturbing your design. Suitable for pro face painters, theatre make-up artists and SFX artists working with water-activated paints.
How do you use this brush?
Activate your face paint with a little water and load the brush to a creamy consistency. Use the flat side for broad, soft strokes, or work with the narrow edge for finer blending transitions.
The Filbert shape is ideal for softly blending two colours together, contouring on cheeks or forehead, and any area where you want no hard edge. The rounded tip prevents harsh lines that you would get with a Chisel brush. The bevelled end of the handle can be used to push away stray hairs or gently correct small mistakes.
Care and cleaning
Rinse the brush immediately after use under lukewarm water until all pigment is gone. Wash with a mild soap or brush cleaner and squeeze gently without pulling the hair bundle apart. Leave to dry hanging with the hairs pointing downwards. The urethane coating on the handle keeps the wood resistant to water and cleaning products without splintering.
