The Mehron Mark Reid Brush #6 Round is a professional round brush from the Mark Reid Pro range for larger areas in face and body painting, designed by international body painter Mark Reid for use with water-activated face paint. The synthetic two-tone nylon brush hairs form a wide rounded tip with high pigment capacity, ideal for filling in larger colour areas and base tones. The wooden handle has a urethane coating for easy cleaning, and the angled end lets you sweep away stray hairs or edges without disturbing your design. Suitable for professional face painters, theatre make-up artists and SFX artists working with face paint.
How do you use this brush?
Activate your face paint with a little water and load the brush to a creamy consistency. The larger size lets you quickly fill in bigger areas such as cheeks, forehead or a full eye shadow zone.
Work with sweeping or circular movements for an even layer. The #6 Round is also well suited to blending two colours on the skin for gradient effects. The angled end of the handle can be used to sweep away stray hairs or carefully correct small mistakes.
Care and cleaning
Rinse the brush immediately after use under lukewarm water until all pigment has gone. Wash with a mild soap or brush cleaner and squeeze out gently without pulling the bristle bundle apart. Leave to dry hanging with the hairs pointing downward. The urethane coating on the handle keeps the wood resistant to water and cleaning products without splintering.
