The Dark Arts Company Slow-Flo Blood Classic, 100ml
Liquid fake blood with a rich orange-red tone and a thicker, flow-resistant texture. Dries to look like clotting, coagulating blood. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre and SFX make-up.
What is Slow-Flo Blood Classic?
Slow-Flo Blood is the slowest-flowing variant in the Flo range. The thicker consistency resists rapid flow, letting you create controlled drip trails and clotting effects. It dries to a thickened, coagulated finish - perfect for older wounds, clotted blood around a wound edge, or deliberate blood trails on skin and clothing.
Classic is the orange-red standard shade, designed for general use. It reads well as fresh wound blood and works in drip scenes where a neutral, recognisable blood tone is needed. No pink undertone, even when it comes into contact with water.
Why choose Slow-Flo Classic?
- Thicker texture - resists flowing for controlled drip effects
- Dries as clotting blood - realistic coagulation look
- Contains a special ingredient that keeps it visible on dark skin and dark surfaces
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Slow-Flo Classic
Pour directly from the bottle or apply with a brush or make-up sponge. The thicker texture gives you good control: dab it onto a wound edge or let it run slowly down a set path. It moves far more slowly than thinner blood, so you can steer exactly where it goes.
For extra depth inside a wound, combine Slow-Flo Classic with a gel such as Contour Gel Classic or Form Gel Classic to build a raised, three-dimensional wound edge.
Setting and removing
Slow-Flo dries slowly and eventually settles to a dry, clotted layer. If you want to speed this up, gently blot with a paper towel to reduce drying time.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes the blood easily. The water reactivates the dried blood so it lifts straight off.
From fabric: soak the fabric for a while in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Rinse under the tap and then wash in the machine on a 30-degree programme.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning agent or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Clotted and clotting blood around wounds on skin and clothing
- Controlled drip scenes in film, theatre and short film
- Older wounds and dried blood effects in SFX make-up
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training sessions and make-up demos
