What is Marly Skin Protection Foam?

Marly Skin is a professional skin protection foam (also known as barrier foam or skin protection foam). You apply it to clean, dry skin before you start with makeup or special effects work. The foam absorbs and forms a light protective layer in the upper layer of your skin, while your skin keeps its normal feel. The manufacturer describes the effect as a "second skin": an invisible layer that supports the skin barrier.

How to use Marly Skin

Use it as the first step, before you apply any makeup or SFX products.

1. Cleanse the skin and make sure it is dry and free from oils.
2. Shake the bottle well.
3. Dispense a walnut-sized amount of foam onto your hand.
4. Spread it evenly and gently massage it into the areas you want to protect.
5. Let it absorb for about 3 minutes before you start with makeup.

After that you can move straight on to face paint, skin adhesives and SFX products. According to the manufacturer the protective effect lasts several hours.

Setting and removing

Marly Skin does not need to be set. You simply work on top of it as if it is not there.

Want to remove everything neatly at the end of the day? Take your time and stay kind to your skin. If your look is made with water-activated face paint, we recommend the Makeup Remover Wonder Towel, optionally with a bit of Diamond FX Skin Soap or baby shampoo. Try to avoid baby wipes or face-cleansing pads, as these are often a cause of skin irritation themselves.

If you have been working with special effects makeup, always use the remover that matches the product you have used.
