When and how do you use ProSeal as a fixative?

ProSeal is built for situations where regular setting sprays fall short. Think long shoot days, prosthetic work that needs to flex, or looks where true waterproofing matters. The spray works on most professional SFX bases: Encore alcohol-activated palettes, Endura airbrush make-up, water-based airbrush and water-based cakes.

Why do professionals choose ProSeal over a standard setting spray?

Most setting sprays are water-based and work well for everyday make-up. ProSeal is different: the solvent base means the sealer penetrates the top layer of your make-up and forms a tight, flexible film. That makes a real difference under heavy use or when the make-up is exposed to moisture.

Choose this product when you're working with alcohol-activated make-up or airbrush and need maximum longevity. Applied in multiple layers, ProSeal also adds a subtle sheen - useful for certain skin and prosthetic effects.

How to use it

Spray lightly from about 30-40 cm over the finished make-up. Let each layer dry fully before adding the next. ProSeal works with an airbrush and directly from the spray bottle.

Pro tip: For a higher sheen, apply two to three thin layers and let each one dry completely. For a matte or semi-matte finish, one light layer is enough. Always test on a small patch of skin or prosthetic before sealing your full look.

Setting and removing

Apply ProSeal only once the make-up is fully dry. Work in thin layers and allow each to dry - the next coat will bond better and you'll build protection without smearing. Remove ProSeal with an alcohol-based remover or a suitable SFX remover.
