Woochie Latex Terminal
The Woochie Latex Terminal is a ready-to-apply wound prosthetic from Woochie for a fatal, end-stage injury look. Apply it to the chosen spot, colour in layers, add fake blood and your horror or SFX look is complete.
What is the Terminal?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of a severe, deep wound with the appearance of a terminal, irreversible injury. The edges taper to a thin finish that blends almost seamlessly into the skin. Remove carefully, clean and store dry and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work goes into blending the edges, colouring and the blood. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Terminal?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your skin first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application spirit gum works well too. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before moving on to colouring the prosthetic.
Painting and blood
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with deep red-purple in the centre of the wound, add a bluish edge around it, then dried blood along the sides. For the blood effect: fake blood inside the wound itself, and a drying layer on the surrounding skin for extra realism.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smears. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
What can you use it for?
- Halloween costume with a fatal wound appearance
- SFX shoots and film or theatre productions
- Haunted houses and horror events as a striking detail
- Cosplay as an injured or dying character
- Practice piece for make-up artists and make-up students
