Woochie Latex I'll be Back
The Woochie Latex I'll be Back is a ready-to-apply wound prosthetic from Woochie, based on a Terminator-style mechanical injury. Apply it, paint it in, add blood and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.
What is the I'll be Back?
A latex prosthetic shaped like a Terminator-style wound, revealing damaged skin and metal beneath. The edges are thinly finished so they blend seamlessly into the skin. Remove carefully, clean it and store it dry, and you can use this prosthetic multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges, painting it in and adding blood. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the I'll be Back?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your skin first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Then blend the edges using liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting and blood
Colour the prosthetic using face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple in the depths of the wound, then a bluish edge, then drying blood along the sides. For the blood effect: apply fake blood inside the wound and a drying layer on the surrounding skin.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smears. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
What can you use it for?
- Halloween costumes with a Terminator or sci-fi horror theme
- SFX shoots and film productions with mechanical injury effects
- Haunted houses and horror events as a showstopper
- Theatre and cosplay productions with a science fiction character
- Practice work for make-up artists training in SFX techniques
