Woochie Latex Slashed Eye

The Woochie Latex Slashed Eye is a ready-to-wear wound application from Woochie for a slashed eye injury look. Stick it on, paint it in, add blood and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.

What is the Slashed Eye?

A latex prosthetic shaped like a slashed eye with an open wound edge. The edges are finished thin so they blend smoothly into your skin. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it and store it dry, and you can use it multiple times.

Why does this prosthetic work so well?

No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges, painting it and adding the blood. That is where you make the difference.

How do you apply the Slashed Eye?

Hold the prosthetic dry against your eye area first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.

Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.

Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Then blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you move on to painting the prosthetic.

Painting and blood

Colour the prosthetic with face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple in the depth of the wound opening, then add a bluish edge around it, followed by drying blood along the sides. For the blood effect: fake blood inside the wound itself, and a drying layer on the skin around it.

Setting and removal

Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
