Woochie Latex Slashed Trachea
The Woochie Latex Slashed Trachea is a ready-to-apply wound prosthetic from Woochie depicting a cut-open throat. Apply it to your neck, build up the colour in layers, add fake blood and your horror or SFX look is complete.
What is the Slashed Trachea?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of a slashed windpipe, with a visible wound structure and an open gash that simulates a cut throat. The edges taper thin and blend smoothly into the skin. Remove it carefully, clean it and store it dry to use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The slashed trachea shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges, colouring it and adding the blood. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Slashed Trachea?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your throat first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin, even layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quicker bond you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Blend the edges using liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin coats give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges with setting powder before moving on to colouring the prosthetic.
Painting and blood
Colour the prosthetic with water-based face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple deep in the wound gash, then add a bluish border, then drying blood along the sides. For the blood effect: apply fake blood inside the wound and a drying layer on the surrounding skin.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
What can you use it for?
- Halloween look as a horror victim or zombie
- SFX shoots and film productions with gore effects
- Horror events and haunted houses where realistic blood effects are needed
- Cosplay of horror or post-apocalyptic characters
- Practice work for make-up artists learning SFX techniques
