Woochie Latex 3D Burn
The Woochie Latex 3D Burn is a ready-to-use wound application from Woochie for a realistic burn with blister texture. Apply it, colour in layers, add fake blood - and your horror, Halloween, or SFX look is complete.
What is the 3D Burn?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of burnt skin with a raised blister structure and damaged surface texture. The edges taper off thinly so they blend seamlessly into your own skin. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it and store it dry - and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The three-dimensional blister shape is already there. Your work lies in blending the edges, colouring, and adding the blood. That's where you make the difference.
How do you apply the 3D Burn?
Hold the prosthetic dry against the desired spot first to determine the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Then blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before moving on to colouring the prosthetic.
Painting and blood
Colour the prosthetic with water-based, grease, or alcohol-activated face paint (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple in the depths of the blister texture, add a bluish border around the burnt zones, and apply a darkening brown along the sides. This gives the burn realistic depth.
For the blood effect: apply fake blood into the deepest parts of the blisters. Outside the wound, lay a thin drying layer on the skin to simulate serum run-off.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. For removal, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All, or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges. Lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water afterwards.
What can you use it for?
- Halloween look as a burn victim or zombie character
- SFX make-up for film, series, or photo shoots
- Haunted house and horror-event actor make-up
- Theatre productions with realistic wound make-up
- Practice work for make-up artists in training
