FBFX Flocking Berry, 20g

FBFX Flocking Berry consists of very fine fibres that you add to silicone or gelatine when making a prosthetic. Despite the name, Berry is blue and is used for veins, cold skin and undertones for drowned or frozen characters.

What is FBFX Flocking?

FBFX Flocking are fine coloured fibres developed specifically for making realistic prosthetics. You mix the fibres into silicone or gelatine before the material cures.

Unlike standard pigments, the fibres don't dissolve. They stay visible in the material and create small variations in colour like you see in real skin. As a result, a prosthetic looks more natural and less flat.

Berry is added in small amounts to a Skin base for vein patterns under the skin or cold undertones. Combine it with Mauve for deathly blue-purple tones, or with Snow for a frozen-skin effect. Use sparingly, otherwise the effect tips into pronounced blue.

Why choose Flocking Berry?

  • Blue undertone: for veins, cold skin and drowned or frozen characters.
  • Realistic skin effect: the fibres stay visible in the material and add more depth than pigment alone.
  • Suitable for gelatine and silicone: straightforward to use across different prosthetic types.
  • Easy to mix: works for small and large projects.
  • Blends well: mix with other Flocking colours for a unique skin tone.

How do you use Flocking Berry?

Add a small amount of Flocking Berry to your gelatine or silicone before the material cures. Mix thoroughly so the fibres are evenly distributed.

Building a specific skin tone? Use Berry alongside other Flocking colours in small amounts until you reach the result you want.

Always start with a small amount. You can add more later, but too much Flocking can thicken the mix and make it harder to work with.

What do you use Flocking Berry for?

  • building realistic skin tones in gelatine prosthetics
  • silicone prosthetics for film, theatre and SFX
  • portraying veins, cold or frozen skin
  • lifecasting projects and character work
  • masks, creatures and special effects with a natural skin texture
