The Woochie Latex Slashed Wrist is a ready-to-use wound application from Woochie for a realistic wrist wound. Apply it to your wrist, paint it in, add fake blood and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.

What is the Slashed Wrist?

A latex prosthetic shaped like an open, cut wrist wound with visible depth and sliced edges. The edges taper thin so they blend seamlessly into the skin. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it with a remover and store it dry for next time.

Why does this prosthetic work so well?

No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex you need to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges, painting it in and adding the blood. That is where you make the difference.

How do you apply the Slashed Wrist?

Hold the prosthetic dry against your wrist first to find the right placement. Do this before applying any adhesive.

Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.

Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Then blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the best transition. Dust the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.

Painting and blood

Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated paint (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple in the depth of the cut, add a bluish edge, then dried blood along the side. For the blood effect: apply fake blood inside the wound and a drying layer on the skin around it.

Setting and removal

Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smears. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water afterwards.
