The Woochie Latex Scar Set is a ready-to-apply wound prosthetic from Woochie, containing three latex scars for horror, Halloween and SFX looks. Apply them, colour them in with a touch of fake blood and your look is complete.

What is the Scar Set?

A set of three latex prosthetics shaped like raised, healed scars. The edges taper thin so they blend smoothly into the skin. Remove them carefully after use, clean them and store them dry - they can be used multiple times.

Why does this prosthetic work so well?

No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges, colouring it in and adding blood. That is where you make the difference.

How do you apply the Scar Set?

Hold each prosthetic dry against your skin first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.

Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of each prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quicker fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.

Press each prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin coats give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before moving on to colouring the prosthetics.

Painting and blood

Colour the prosthetics with water-activated face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple along the raised scar ridge, blend a bluish tone along the sides and gradually fade out towards your skin tone. For the blood effect: apply fake blood along the scar line and let a drip dry on the surrounding skin.

Setting and removal

Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smears. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
