Woochie Latex Glass Attack
The Woochie Latex Glass Attack is a ready-to-use wound application from Woochie for a realistic shattered glass wound effect. Apply it, paint it in, add fake blood and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.
What is the Glass Attack?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of a shattered glass impact wound, with sharp impressions and raised wound edges that create the illusion of glass embedded deep in the skin. The thin, finished edges blend seamlessly into your skin. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it and store it dry, and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work goes into blending the edges, painting it in and adding the blood. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Glass Attack?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your chosen spot first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin, even layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard choice for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you move on to painting the prosthetic.
Painting and blood
Colour the prosthetic using face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with a red-purple tone in the depths of the glass wound, then add a bluish edge, then add drying blood along the side. For the blood effect: apply fake blood inside the wound, and a drying layer on the surrounding skin.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove the prosthetic, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin afterwards with lukewarm water.
