The Woochie Latex Slash Set is a ready-to-wear wound application by Woochie for a realistic slash look on your face, chest, stomach or wrist. Apply the prosthetic, paint it up in layers, add fake blood, and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.

What is the Slash Set?

A latex prosthetic in the form of a slash wound set with multiple wound shapes and thin finished edges that blend seamlessly into the skin. Removed carefully, cleaned and stored dry, the set can be used multiple times.

Why does this prosthetic work so well?

No kneading, no waiting for dry time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges, painting it in and adding the blood. That is where you make the difference.

How do you apply the Slash Set?

Hold the prosthetic dry against your skin first to find the right placement. Do this before applying any adhesive.

Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.

Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before moving on to painting the prosthetic.

Painting and blood

Colour the prosthetic with water-activated, grease or alcohol-activated face paint (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with red-purple in the depth of the slash wounds, then add a bluish edge, followed by drying blood along the sides. For the blood effect: add fake blood into the wound and a drying layer on the surrounding skin.

Setting and removal

Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
