The Dark Arts Company Med-Flo Blood Bright, 100 ml
Liquid fake blood with an intense vermilion red colour and a smooth, free-flowing texture. It spreads across skin the way real blood moves and dries within minutes. Made by The Dark Arts Company for film, theatre, and SFX make-up.
What is Med-Flo Blood Bright?
Med-Flo Blood sits in the middle of the Flo range in terms of flow speed. It moves and spreads realistically on skin and fabric, behaving like fresh blood in motion. The drying time is short - it sets within minutes, so you can keep shooting without long pauses between takes.
Bright is the most vivid shade in the range: an intense vermilion red that reads strongly on camera and in lo-light environments. Ideal for lung blood, fresh wounds, and situations where you need a clean, bright blood colour. No pink undertone, even in contact with water.
Why choose Med-Flo Bright?
- Flows and spreads like real blood - not too thin, not too thick
- Dries within minutes - carry on working quickly after application
- Intense vermilion red with no pink undertone, even in water
- Contains surfactants and stain inhibitors for easy clean-up
- Ingredients of food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical grade
- Vegan and not tested on animals
How to apply Med-Flo Bright
Pour directly from the bottle, drip with a pipette, or apply with a brush or make-up sponge. For drip effects, start high and let gravity do the work. For spatters, flick blood from a brush or dab with a wet sponge.
For wounds that need more depth, combine with a thicker texture such as Slow-Flo Bright (coagulating effect) or Form Gel Bright (3D gel in the same colour).
Setting and removing
Med-Flo dries to the air within minutes. If you want to speed things up, gently pat dry with a paper towel.
From skin: lukewarm water with a little soap removes it easily. The water reactivates the dried blood so it lifts straight off.
From fabric: soak the fabric for a while in water at around 30 degrees with detergent. Rinse under the tap and machine wash on a 30-degree programme.
From surfaces: non-porous surfaces just need washing and rinsing; porous surfaces may need a cleaning product or household bleach.
What can you use it for?
- Fresh flowing blood on skin and clothing in real-time scenes
- Drip and flow scenes in film, theatre, and short film
- Blood from wounds, mouth, or nose
- Horror and zombie make-up for Halloween
- SFX training sessions and make-up demos
