With this Superstar Face Painting Sponge Set, you immediately have four different sponges for applying an even base, blending colours, creating quick butterfly designs and producing various theatrical makeup effects. This allows you to discover which sponge works best for each technique.
What is the Superstar Face Painting Sponge Set?
This set consists of four different reusable sponges from Superstar. You receive one pink round Eco sponge, one black round Eco sponge, one Butterfly Sponge and one stipple sponge.
Use the round face painting sponges for larger areas and soft colour gradients. The Butterfly Sponge has a practical teardrop shape for butterflies and eye designs. The coarse texture of the stipple sponge can be used to create beard stubble, couperose, speckles and various special effects.

How do you use the Superstar Face Painting Sponge Set?
Lightly dampen the pink, black or Butterfly Sponge with clean water. The easiest way to do this is with a spray bottle, so the sponge does not become too wet.
Gently rub the sponge over the water-based face paint until you have picked up enough colour. Then apply the face paint to the skin using a dabbing motion. Dabbing instead of wiping gives you a more even result.
Preferably use the stipple sponge dry or only very slightly damp. Pick up a small amount of face paint and dab it onto a tissue first. You can then gradually build up the effect on the skin. Do not use too much pressure, as the sponge has a coarse texture.
Setting and removal
Water-based face paint dries naturally on the skin. If you would like to protect the face paint further, you can use a product from our setting products category.
After use, wash the sponges with warm water and soap. Gently squeeze them clean without pulling or wringing them and allow them to air-dry completely. Preferably use a clean sponge for each face. Remove face paint from the skin with water and soap or a suitable product from our removers and cleansing category.
