PlatSil Gel-00 is the softest variant in Polytek's PlatSil range, designed for hyper-realistic prosthetics, animatronics and dummy body parts. With a Shore 00-30 hardness, this silicone moves and feels like real flesh: soft, flexible and skin-like. Like Gel-10, this platinum-cure silicone is used by film and theatre professionals worldwide for the most realistic prosthetics and silicone masks.

What is PlatSil Gel-00?

PlatSil Gel-00 is a platinum-cure silicone rubber with a Shore 00-30 hardness, significantly softer than Gel-10. You use it when you need maximum flexibility and skin realism, for example for encapsulated prosthetics, hyper-realistic silicone masks, animatronic parts or medical training models.

Because of the extra-soft structure, you need less Smiths Prosthetic Deadener than with Gel-10 to achieve skin-like flexibility. You can also use Gel-00 straight, without Deadener, for self-adhesive appliances (tacky-gels) or dummy body parts.

How to use PlatSil Gel-00

1. Add silicone pigment to Part B before mixing with Part A. This preserves your full working time to distribute colour evenly and keeps the cure timing consistent.
2. Working with Deadener for extra flexibility? Add the Deadener to Part A and then combine both parts. With Gel-00 you often need far less Deadener than with Gel-10.
3. Mix Part A and Part B in a 1:1 ratio (by weight or volume) until fully homogeneous.
4. Pour or apply into your mould or onto the surface within six minutes working time.
5. Wait 30 minutes before demoulding or removal.
