How to use Ben Nye Complete Blood Pack with Capsules

Fill the capsules with the included Stage Blood just before use. Try to use them within a few hours of filling; gelatine softens over time and the capsules may rupture prematurely if left too long.

• Filling the capsule: Open the capsule and add a few drops of Stage Blood. Close it and wipe the outside dry before placing it in the mouth.
• Performing the effect: Place the filled capsule discreetly in the mouth. Biting down bursts the gelatine and releases the blood. For a wound build-up around the bite mark on skin, combine with Thick Blood on the teeth or skin.
• Multiple scenes: Prepare a fresh capsule for each scene. Store filled capsules somewhere cool and dry if needed later in the day, but always use them on the same day.

Stage Blood stays fluid after biting. After the scene, rinse the mouth with water; gelatine residue dissolves quickly.

Setting and removal

Stage Blood is liquid and does not set. To remove it, work through these steps:

• Skin: Warm water with mild soap, patting gently to lift the colour. For stubborn residue, use a Wonder Towel and finish with a good skin cleanser. On fair skin a slight pink tint may linger for a few hours before fading completely.
• Clothing and fabric: Rinse immediately with cold water. Then machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius with a stain remover. Always test on a hidden area first. Ben Nye states that the blood washes out of most fabrics but cannot give a 100 per cent guarantee.
• Capsule residue in the mouth: Simply rinse with water. The capsules are food-grade gelatine and fully edible, so any residue is harmless.
