Mehron Squirt Blood Dark Venous is a professional stage blood on a water base, with a deep dark-red colour that closely resembles venous blood. Ideal for bloody scenes in theatre, film, Halloween events, or training situations such as first-aid and emergency-response exercises.

What effects can you create with Squirt Blood Dark Venous?

The deep, near-black red of Dark Venous mimics deoxygenated blood convincingly. That makes it the right choice for wounds, lacerations, bite marks and any scene where the blood needs to look older or more severe than a fresh arterial cut.

It is also used in emergency-response and casualty-simulation training, where a realistic venous colour helps trainees distinguish between wound types at a glance.

When do you choose Dark Venous over Bright Arterial?

The two Squirt Blood variants serve different purposes. Bright Arterial is a vivid, bright red for fresh spurting wounds. Dark Venous is darker and deeper, better suited to older wounds, bruised tissue, bite effects, and horror looks where you want a less fresh, more sinister appearance.

Choose Dark Venous when the look calls for something that has been bleeding for a while, or when you are layering blood effects on top of dark prosthetics or bruise colouring.

How to use it

Apply directly to skin or over prosthetics. Use a pump or thin tube to create the classic squirt effect. You can also drip, brush or splatter it depending on the look you need. It dries within a short time, darkens slightly and forms a light crust for a realistic finish.

Pro tip: For a deep bite wound, apply Dark Venous in the centre first and let it begin to dry before adding a second layer at the edges. The colour variation between wet and dried layers adds depth and realism.

Removing

Remove with lukewarm water and soap. Note: this product can stain fabric. Always test on an inconspicuous area first before use on costumes or upholstery.
