What is coloured hairspray silver?

The Goodmark Coloured Hairspray Silver is a temporary hair lacquer in a 125 ml aerosol. You spray it onto dry hair and the colour sits on the hair, not in it. Great when you want a quick silver effect without any permanent change. A couple of shampoo washes and your hair is back to normal.

How do you apply this silver hairspray?

1. Cover your costume, shoulders and face with a cloth or old towel before you start
2. Shake the can for at least 1.5 minutes so the pigment mixes through the propellants
3. Hold the can upright and about 20 cm from your hair
4. Spray in short bursts over dry hair, layer by layer until you reach the coverage you want
5. Let it dry for a few seconds before moving your head
6. Want extra hold or a matte finish? Finish off with your own fixing hairspray

Tip: on dark hair the silver spray gives a striking metallic shimmer. On light or grey hair you get a fuller, more polished silver-white look. Try a test spray on a small section first if you're unsure what to expect.

Safety and warnings

• Do not use near open flames, candles or sparks: the spray is flammable
• Can is pressurised: do not pierce, break open or store near hot surfaces
• Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water
• Do not apply to chemically treated hair (such as recently dyed or permed hair)
• Not suitable for children under 6 years of age

Washing out and removing

Wash the hairspray out with regular shampoo in the shower. Work in two rounds: lather and rinse well first to remove most of the pigment, then wash again for a clean, residue-free result. On very light hair a slight silver tint may remain after one wash; a second wash with a conditioning shampoo will sort that out.
