What looks can you create with Light Grey?
Light Grey 071 is a versatile base for animal face paint like wolves, elephants and huskies. It also works well as a shadow tone for zombie and creature effects, or as a stone and concrete texture in SFX and theatre work.
For fantasy and sci-fi looks, this shade is perfect as a robot base or for ageing effects. Use it to blend into white or darker grey to build realistic depth and contour.
When do you choose Light Grey over other shades?
Light Grey sits between pure white and mid-grey, making it the go-to when you need a neutral base that reads as grey without being too dark. It blends well with darker shades to create gradients and shadow areas without going flat.
Choose Light Grey when you need a clean wolf muzzle, a realistic ash tone, or a soft shadow layer under darker SFX details. The glycerin base gives smooth coverage in one or two passes.
How to use it
Activate with a lightly damp brush or sponge. For brush work: wet the brush, swirl over the face paint and build up in thin layers. For a flat base: dampen the face paint sponge using a spray bottle so it stays lightly damp rather than soaking wet, then press over the paint and apply to skin.
Pro tip: Use a round sponge or a butterfly sponge for an even base on larger areas like cheeks and forehead.
Setting and removing
Superstar face paint dries quickly to a matte finish that does not transfer easily. To remove, wash off with water and mild soap or use a facial soap. For sensitive skin, try the gentle Wonder Towel with a little water. Do not scrub and avoid baby wipes as these can irritate the skin.
