What is Superstar Fake Blood Bright Red?
A thick, water-soluble fake blood in a vivid red shade. The clotting formula stays neatly in place and adheres to the skin. Use it to create fresh wounds, claw marks, vampire bites, and dripping scenes that look convincing both on camera and in person.
Bright Red is the go-to colour for fresh wound effects. For dried or older-looking blood, reach for Dark Thick Clotting. Combine the two for a wound with a wet centre and darker, drier edges.
Why choose this fake blood?
- Thick and clotting - stays in place and won't drip where you don't want it.
- Bright red colour for fresh, wet wounds and newly inflicted injuries.
- Mixable - blend with Dark Thick or Clear Thick for depth and realism.
- Water base (Aqua, CI 14720) - washes off skin with water and soap.
- Dosing cap on the bottle - drip or dose directly onto brush or sponge.
- 20ml - a handy starter size for one look or a Halloween evening.
How to apply
Shake the bottle well before use. Apply the blood with a clean brush or a make-up sponge, or dose it directly from the bottle onto the area you want to cover. For a smeared effect, dab with a stipple sponge. For fine scratches and spatters, use a stipple sponge or toothbrush.
Let the blood clot slightly before working over it - that way it won't sink in. Combine with Dark Thick Clotting or Clear Thick for extra depth around a wound. Not for use in or near the mouth, and not near the eyes. CI 14720 is EU-approved for skin use, but not for mucous membranes such as the lips, mouth cavity, or eye contour.
Removing and washing
Remove from skin in three steps: first rinse off the top layer with lukewarm water, then use a remover towel to lift any residue, and finish with skin soap.
Got a stain on your costume? Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water first, then wash at 30 degrees in the machine or by hand. For white fabrics or delicate textiles, we recommend testing a small area first. This blood does not wash out equally well from all types of fabric.
What to use it for
- Fresh wounds, cuts, and claw marks for Halloween looks and SFX.
- Vampire bites and mouth corners (around, not inside).
- Dripping blood from ears, nose, and eye corners for zombie and horror make-up.
- Theatre, film, and cosplay where the blood needs to stay visible under lighting.
- Halloween parties, themed events, and costume nights.
