Superstar Fake Blood Dark Thick, Clotting 250ml
Dark red blood that stays exactly where you put it. This thicker, clotting fake blood from Superstar gives you the look of old wounds, dried edges and blood that has been sitting for a while.
What is Superstar Fake Blood Dark Thick?
A thick, water-soluble fake blood in a dark red shade. The clotting formula stays neatly in place and adheres to the skin. Use it to create old wounds, dried wound edges, zombie looks and horror effects that hold up convincingly on camera and in person.
Dark Thick gives the look of dried or older blood. Combine it with Bright Red Clotting for the wet, fresh centre of a wound - that layered depth is what makes a wound look real.
Why choose this fake blood?
- Clotting and thick - stays in place without dripping where you don't want it.
- Dark red shade for old wounds, crust edges and dried-looking blood effects.
- Mixable - blend with Bright Red Clotting 250ml or Clear Thick 250ml for depth and realism.
- Water-based (Aqua, CI 14720) - washes off skin with water and soap.
- Squeeze bottle with dosing cap - drip or dose directly onto a brush or sponge.
- 250ml - for production work, long-running projects and bulk applications.
How to apply
Shake the bottle well before use. Apply the blood with a clean brush or a make-up sponge, or dose it directly from the bottle onto the spot you want. For a smeared effect, dab with a stipple sponge. For fine scratches and spatters, use a stipple sponge or toothbrush.
Let the blood clot in place before working over it - this keeps it from sinking in. Combine with Bright Red Clotting or Clear Thick for extra depth and colour contrast around a wound. Not for use in the mouth or near the eyes. CI 14720 is EU-approved for skin use but not for mucous membranes (lips, mouth, eye contour).
Removing and washing
Remove the blood from skin in three steps: first rinse off the top layer with lukewarm water, then use a remover towel to lift any residue, and finish with skin soap.
Got a stain on your costume? Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water first, then wash at 30 degrees in the machine or by hand. For white fabrics or delicate materials, test on a small area first. This blood does not come out equally well from all types of fabric.
What to use it for
- Old wounds, crust edges and dried-looking blood for zombie and horror looks.
- Vampire bites and mouth corners (around, not inside) where the blood has been sitting a while.
- Dripping blood from ears or the nose where a darker shade looks more realistic.
- Theatre, film and cosplay where blood needs to stay visible under lights.
- Halloween parties, themed events and costume contests.
