Diamond FX Splitcake Butter Cupcake (30gr) - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Butter Cupcake (30gr) is a professional wax-based face paint with three sweet colours in one cake: Essential White, Essential Golden Yellow and Essential Pink. The wax base lets you build up layers without the colours immediately bleeding into each other. With this 30g cake you can face paint 10 to 15 complete faces.
Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, free from animal-derived ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of both children and adults. Browse all our other Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the cake lightly with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Move your brush back and forth across the colours to pick them up together. Work with a water container and refresh the water regularly to keep your colour transitions clean and vibrant.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed for face paint with smooth synthetic hairs that leave no fluff behind. For detail work and lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water container with fresh water next to your workstation prevents colours from muddying or going dull.
- Protective layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier layer makes removal easier and prevents pigment residue after painting.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the paint is gone.
For a cleaner, quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that takes off the paint in one wipe, ideal at events and birthday parties where you paint lots of children one after another

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the paint?
Large temperature swings during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear once you start using the cake. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30 grams?
A 30g cake gives you approximately 10 to 15 complete faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come to life under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, and that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos were taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
