What is Mehron Tooth FX?

Mehron Tooth FX is a fast-drying liquid tooth lacquer developed specifically for temporary character make-up on natural teeth. The Nicotine shade gives teeth a yellow-brown discolouration, as if the character has spent years smoking, drinking coffee or living rough. Tooth FX is available in six shades to cover every dental effect: Nicotine (this variant), Black, Blood Red, Gold, Spinach Green and White.

The formula is non-toxic and does not damage tooth enamel when used as directed. Tooth FX is intended for natural teeth only and should not be used on dentures, crowns, brackets or porous tooth surfaces. On porous surfaces the lacquer soaks in and becomes difficult to remove.

How to use Tooth FX Nicotine

Step 1: prepare the teeth. Dry the teeth thoroughly with a tissue. Tooth FX only bonds to dry teeth, so remove all saliva before you start. Avoid eating or drinking in the 5 minutes before application.

Step 2: shake the bottle. Shake the bottle well before use so the pigments are evenly distributed.

Step 3: apply with the brush. Dip the applicator brush into the bottle and apply Tooth FX Nicotine to whichever teeth you want to stain. Build up gradually, starting with less colour and adding a second coat for a heavier yellow-brown. Keep your lips away from the tooth while applying and hold your mouth open until the lacquer has dried. Step 4: let it dry. Allow the lacquer to dry for a few seconds before closing your mouth. For a stronger nicotine look, apply a second thin coat once the first has dried. Pro tip: you can also transfer Tooth FX onto a mixing palette, thin it with a little alcohol and apply it with a separate brush. This is more hygienic when working on multiple people and gives you greater control over the effect.

Important before use

• Natural teeth only: do not use on dentures, crowns, brackets, braces or porous tooth surfaces. On porous surfaces the lacquer soaks in and becomes difficult to remove.
• Do not swallow: despite being non-toxic, the product is not intended for consumption.
• Avoid eating while wearing Tooth FX: the lacquer withstands talking and light sips of water, but not chewing or hot drinks.
• Test on one tooth first before treating the whole set of teeth to assess adhesion and removal.

Removing

Tooth FX is easy to remove by brushing your teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water afterwards.
